This was our setup. Everyone else there had a canopy. We had an umbrella, and it was missing the bottom pole. If you look closely, you can see Allie lying under it. She had a bit of a struggle at first. She had left her swimsuit at Subway and we didn't realize it until we got to the "beach," and she was left with some unfavorable choices: she could either get in the ocean in her leggings and shirt or take them off and get in in her undies. She hated both options. So, she cried. And cried. And CRIED.
Damon spent most of his time hauling rocks out of the water into a big pile (and then made a firepit out of them). I was especially impressed with this big rock. It took him quite a while to get it across the sand, but he was awfully excited about his accomplishment.
Kyla loved it most of all. She is such a water baby, and has stopped eating sand, which makes her diaper changers very happy. She sported a faux hawk long enough for me to get a few pics.
I didn't put her in a swim diaper. Those things are precious! I was willing to risk infecting everyone with crypto and kept her in her regular diaper. She decided to impersonate J-Lo and we all thought she did a fantastic job.
You can imagine how sandy we all were, so we stopped at the bathroom on our way out to rinse off. I loved this picture of Kyla as she sat in the sink with Allie.
We all had a good time. I do miss Florida, but since we are now Utah residents, we will have to learn to make do.

Looks like fun. Oh Allie, she reminds me of my kids so much. It is such a struggle sometimes to be so little. I am glad she was finally convinced to have fun.
Love that last picture.
It will be a hard tradition to replace. How did Kyla say the red sand tasted??
Looks like a good time. I am glad that Allie was able to have a good time finally too!
That last picture in the sink is adorable!! :)
I'm glad that you are able to continue your tradition, even if you are almost 1000 miles from the ocean. Kyla looks GORGEOUS in that last picture!
That is so funny about Allie, she has quite the personality! How long are you in STG?
FABULOUS Kyla pictures, scrapbook those for sure! That sounds way fun. I'm glad Kimmy got Allie out of her pity party (not that I blame her, I'd probably have a similar one). Hope to be there for the next beach Friday!
I love the sink picture. It always makes me sad when I hear about friends going to St. George. It is so close, but now quite close enough. If you ever come down to sin city, give me heads up. You always have a place to stay.
I really liked Sand Hollow. Definitely the closes thing to the beach around. Fun times!
Cute!!! I LOVE that picture of you and the kids in the water! So cute! Looked like a ton of fun! We miss you already! I was telling Jeff on Sunday that we aren't ready for you guys to leave! He then informed me that he and John were planning some adventure trips to Peru and other South America locations soon! I'll gladly let Jeff go in my place on those trips!
So fun! I'm glad you're able to keep up the tradition as much as you can. It's seems that Kyla doesn't mind the change of venue! :0) I love all of the pics!
Looks fun! Rick's brother and sister's families have houses being built in Sand Hollow. Tanner only wears his swimsuit all day too.
What wonderful summer memories for your kids!!
