While Jeff's Away

Jeff had the AAO convention in New Orleans this year, and then he went straight to New Mexico to work for four days, so we were on our own all last week. It was a busy week, which always helps the time to go by faster. Colleen and I put together some freezer meals on Tuesday. We ended up with quite a bit of food! Carter isn't the best photographer, but McKay is a pretty great photo bomber. :)

We made chicken pot pie, baked ziti, meatloaf, meatballs, beef for beef and broccoli, chicken and dumpling casserole, blueberry jello salad, lasagna soup and a bean soup. Phew! That should keep us fed for at least a couple days.

Wednesday was Allie's birthday. She wanted to take donuts to her class, so we went to drop them off and stayed for lunch with her and her friends.

Wednesday was our crazy day, and I needed some help to get through it. Damon had a baseball game, so we dropped him off at 4:30. We dropped Kyla off at Colleen's house on our way to Allie's soccer game so she could go to tumbling. The rest of us drove to Allie's soccer game. As soon as it was over, we went back to the baseball field and picked Damon up (Colleen drove Kyla to tumbling at 5:45). Damon changed in the car and we dropped him off at the soccer field for his soccer game at 6:45. I drove back to pick Kyla up and drop Allie off at dance at 7:00. We drove through In n Out to get some dinner, then went back to the soccer field for Damon's game. Allie went home from her dance class with her friend, and we picked her up on our way home, at 8:30. That was a lot to cram into 4 hours!

Several of the mornings Jeff was gone, I found a couple little friends in bed with me in the morning.

Kyla had her last soccer game on Thursday. She scored two goals and got her medal and certificate. This picture of her and Lucy cracks me up, because look at Carter getting ready to photo bomb.

Damon had a baseball game on Friday night, and he pitched really well. It was fun to watch, even though Carter got lost on his way back from the bathroom and I ran around like a mad woman for a few minutes until we found him. Luckily, all was well. Jeff got home late Friday night and had to be up early for the race he was sponsoring on Saturday.

It was the Provo City Half Marathon and 5K, as well as a kids' marathon (1.2 miles). Our kids were all excited to do it, even though it was a little harder than Kyla thought it would be. They did awesome!

Allie had her birthday party Saturday night. She wanted to do a big party at home with lots of friends. They played games, roasted marshmallows and made smores, and watched a movie. Lots of energy and lots of fun.

Allie got a lot of great presents. This headband was made by one of her friends. So cute!

Because Allie scored two goals in her second to last soccer game, and Kyla scored a bunch of goals this season, we promised the whole family an ice cream celebration when Jeff got home. So last night we went to the BYU creamery and made good on that promise. Ice cream cones for all!
