Little Mermaid

I decided for the summer, instead of having the girls do one activity every week (like gymnastics), I would sign them up for one big activity. I chose Up With Kids. It was a week long drama camp from 9-3, and they put on a production of Little Mermaid at the end of the week. They had a blast, and the play was a lot of fun. For them, anyway. Mostly it was a lot of kids standing around and occasionally putting in a line or singing a song. So it was painfully long and we couldn't hear all that well.

Still, I wish I had gotten better pics, because the costumes were adorable and they had such a good time. Carter thought it was fun.

McKay thought it was too restrictive.

And Jeff ended up in the back of the room with the two little boys for the whole play, while I tried to video from way in the back. Not ideal.

Two pics I did manage to get. Allie was a mermaid and also a sailor. She looked cute, even if I couldn't understand her two lines.

Kyla was a jellyfish (the one in green). She was constantly trying to stand by the mic, so I never knew when her two lines were actually coming. She also couldn't stop fiddling with her costume. Too tempting.

Overall, it was a super fun experience for the girls and they are already talking about doing it again next year.

That sounds great! Maybe we'll try that next summer.
